Dassault has clinched European approval for its Falcon 2000S and 2000LXS business jets - the latest versions of its best-selling 2000 family.
The French airframer is now gearing up to begin deliveries of the super-midsize and large-cabin types in the second quarter and second half of the year respectively. US certification for both aircraft is imminent.
The 10-seat 2000S was launched nearly two years ago as a rival to Bombardier's Challenger 300 and Gulfstream's G280. The 10-seat aircraft features inboard leading edge wing slats, high-Mach blended winglets, Pratt & Whitney PW308C engines and an approach speed of 107kt (198km/h), allowing it to land at airports with challenging, steep approaches and short runways.
The 2000S also sports a BMW Group DesignworksUSA interior and a redesigned cockpit incorporating the EASy II flight deck.
The 2000LXS was launched late last year as upgrade to the 2000LX, which it replaces. The aircraft features the same flight deck, engines, inboard slats and winglets as the 2000S, but also boasts a number of performance enhancements over its predecessor.
These include a balanced field length of 1,430m (4,690ft) compared to the LX's 5,750ft and a landing distance of 2,300ft - 430ft less than the six-year old LX.
