Saudi Arabian private aviation operator Alpha Star Aviation Services has placed an order for one ATR 72-600 and one option.

The firm-order aircraft is scheduled for delivery in September 2014, and will be the first ATR 72-600 operating in the Middle East region. It will join an a smaller ATR 42-600 that is already in the company’s fleet.

“Given the intense market dynamics with a multitude of business opportunities in the region, Alpha Star to date needs more of the reliable, comfortable and high-performance aircraft such as ATR 72-600 to better satisfy the rising demand in private transport”, says Alpha Star chief executive Salim Al Muzaini.

Alpha Star also has four Airbus A320 family corporate jets, two Hawker Beechcraft 900XPs and one Gulfstream V in its fleet.
