CAE is nearing completion of Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) training devices for two military customers in the Middle East, following in-plant acceptance testing over the past few months at CAE's manufacturing facility in Montreal, Canada.

During 2012, both the United Arab Emirates air force and the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) will receive a CAE Simfinity A330 MRTT integrated procedures trainer (IPT) and a CAE-built A330 MRTT air refuelling officer part-task trainer. CAE is under contract from Airbus Military to provide the UAE air force and the RSAF with these training devices as part of their acquisition of A330 MRTT aircraft.

The CAE Simfinity IPT will be used by the UAE air force and the RSAF so that pilots, co-pilots and maintainers can familiarise themselves with the A330 MRTT cockpit and run through procedural training tasks. The three-dimensional spatial environment of the IPT uses multiple touch-sensitive screens to display the actual cockpit environment in a 1:1 ratio as well as to display active schematics. The CAE Simfinity IPT runs a full-fidelity simulation software load - the same simulation software that can be used on a full-mission simulator.
