Aircraft connectivity provider SatcomDirect is focusing on showcasing its cybersecurity solutions at this year’s Dubai air show.

Leveraging its experience at helping to secure networks for military and government clients, the company is now providing a suite of products to secure data for business aircraft operators.

Chris Moore, SD’s chief commercial officer, says: “We’ve been providing commercial solutions for the most demanding customers in the industry for several years, and are applying our experience to further enhance our commercial services with practical solutions supported by accessible training options.

"We are committed to extending our know-how in the field to help keep business and military aviation connectivity secure.”

SD offers a free Cyber Smart Kit to corporate flight departments, aimed at educating them on the issues related to cyber security on aircraft, and the most likely threats.

It also has a comprehensive Cyber Security Solutions suite of products that provides solutions to protect data onboard aircraft. The process starts with a self-assessment of IT security to identify areas for improvement, followed by an onsite risk assessment conducted under international standards.

Complementing that is the SD Private Network, which allows connectivity providers to connect aircraft via a data centre, allowing for real-time analysis and threat detection.
