UK low-cost carrier easyJet expects pre-tax profits for this financial year to grow by 40-50%. It has originally expected a 10-15% profit rise. It made a pre-tax profit of £67.9 million ($125 million) last year. The announcement comes as easyJet posts second-quarter unit revenue up 17% on the same period last year. This is due to the fact that Easter fell within the period, unlike last year, but also shows underlying revenue strength, says the carrier.
