Central European budget carrier Wizz Air will later this year start flights to Edinburgh, making the city its third Scottish destination after Aberdeen and Glasgow.

Edinburgh will be served by Wizz from Hungarian capital Budapest, Polish cities Gdansk and Warsaw, and Romanian capital Bucharest, says the carrier.

The flights will begin on 18 December, says Edinburgh airport.

Wizz operates to Aberdeen from Gdansk and to Glasgow from Budapest and Polish city Katowice.

The airline's fleet is comprised of Airbus A320s and A321s.
