Oman Air has become the latest Middle Eastern carrier to branch into regional jet operations, following delivery of its first two Embraer 175s. Part of an agreement for five E-175s, the 71-seat aircraft - which have 11 seats in business class - are fitted with in-flight entertainment. While Oman Air's fleet renewal has included taking six Airbus A330s - with six Boeing 787 s on the way - acting chief executive Salim Mohammed Al Kindi says: "Having this [regional jet] flexibility allows us to introduce more point-to-point routes currently not sustainable with larger aircraft."
