Emirates takes A380 network to 50 cities

Middle Eastern carrier Emirates has extended its Airbus A380 operations to 50 destinations with the introduction of services with the type to Osaka and Hamburg.

Emirates conducted its initial Dubai-Osaka A380 flight on 28 October while the double-deck aircraft was deployed on the Hamburg route the following day.

The airline says the A380 switch provides a 38% capacity hike to the Japanese city and a 22% increase on the German route.

Emirates has a fleet of 105 A380s, and is by far the world’s largest operator of the type. Its Osaka link is served with a 489-seat A380, while the Hamburg aircraft has 517 seats. Both have three-class cabins.
