Mitsubishi Aircraft has selected three MRO firms as preferred service providers on the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ).

The MRO partners are HAECO Americas, Pemco World Air Services (“PEMCO”) in North America, and All Nippon Airways unit MRO Japan, says the airframer in a statement. Letters of intent have been signed with all three.

“The conclusion of these LOIs with our initial MRJ preferred airframe MRO partners will greatly strengthen our customer support capabilities for our aircraft MRO services,” says Peter Turner, Mitsubishi Aircraft's deputy head of customer support division.

“Through collaborative efforts with these three companies during flight test and in advance of entry into service, we will reinforce and enhance our customer support network and infrastructure to exceed our customers’ expectations as they bring the MRJ aircraft into service. We will continue to identify and appoint MRJ preferred airframe MRO partners strategically determined by regional requirements as the worldwide network of MRJ operators continues to expand,” adds Mitsubishi Aircraft.

The news follows an earlier announcement from Mitsubishi Aircraft that it will start final assembly of the first customer MRJ early next year, and is targeting type certification in early 2018, before delivering the jet to MRO Japan's parent company, All Nippon Airways, in the middle of the year.
