Embraer has delivered the first two of eight Super Tucanos to the Dominican Republic's air force. The turboprops will be used on missions involving internal security, border patrol and combating drug traffic. In all, 172 of the aircraft have been sold to seven customers. Deliveries include 83 to the Brazilian air force and 25 to the Colombian air force. The Super Tucano is an evolution of the Tucano trainer, 650 of which are in service with 15 air forces.
