Lithuanian maintenance provider FL Technics increased its net profit to €5.6 million ($6.9 million) last year, from around €3 million in 2016.

Zilvinas Lapinskas. chief executive of the Vilnius-based MRO provider, states: "It is clear that diversification of the client portfolio, focus on the team and customer satisfaction, and lean-based management have led FL Technics to a great year."

Introduction of a bay system – with dedicated teams working on one aircraft – and investment in mechanical training for base maintenance staff both helped in "attracting first-tier European airlines as clients", says FL Technics.

It notes that services are being provided to Eurowings, Luxair and Swiss, as well as Turkish carriers Corendon Airlines and Pegasus.

Lapinskas says the company's job is to assure customers that "their MRO provider takes quality very seriously".

In the line maintenance segment, FL Technics and its UK subsidiary Storm Aviation opened eight additional stations across Germany, Latvia, Russia, Spain and the UK.
