Airliner net orders came in at 139 for April as 151 new orders were offset by 12 cancellations, with another 21 swaps.

Lessor ILFC placed orders for 100 Airbus A320 family aircraft and also cancelled ten A380s during the month. UTair ordered 20 ATR72s while China Development Bank Leasing and Hebei Airlines each ordered ten Embraer 190s. Aviation Capital Group swapped seven A319s and four A321s all for the A320 variant. Aer Lingus also swapped three A330s for the A350.

Airbus totalled 101 new orders in April while Boeing only received two. In the regional market, Embraer, ATR and Bombardier received 25, 20 and three orders respectively.

In the narrowbody market, a total of 75 A320 and 25 A321 orders were placed during the month (all by ILFC). The orders for widebody aircraft were for two Boeing 777s and a single A330. In the regional market, 25 190s, three CRJs and 20 ATR72s were placed.

Overall, the order backlog for airliners ended April at 7,946, up 36 on the previous month.
