French and Russian authorities have agreed to increase the allocation of weekly air services between the two states from 65 to 73.

Russian distribution of the eight additional frequencies will include three for the Moscow-Lyon route and one for Ekaterinburg-Paris.

The other four have yet to be assigned, says the official record of the bilateral update released by federal air transport regulator Rosaviatsia.

Air France currently operates only from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Moscow Sheremetyevo and St Petersburg, according to FlightGlobal schedules data.

The carrier is a member of the SkyTeam alliance, along with Russian flag-carrier Aeroflot.

Aeroflot has a more extensive Russian-French network. Ural Airlines also operates between Ekaterinburg and Paris.
