France's special operations command has received an initial number of Elbit Systems Skylark I unmanned air vehicles. The nation has not confirmed the number of systems to have been deployed, but it is believed that its initial contract includes the provision of between four and six UAVs and ground stations, with options to acquire more. The backpackable Skylark I is equipped with a day and night observation and data collection payload and has a range of over 10km (5.4nm). The system has previously been purchased by Australia, Canada and Sweden.
