Garuda Indonesia will launch a new service to Singapore from Makassar, on the island of Sulawesi, on 1 June.

The airline will operate the service daily using a Boeing 737-500 aircraft, says the airline's spokesman.

The introduction of this route is in line with the airline's plans to develop Makassar as its third domestic hub, after Jakarta and Bali, and as a gateway to East Indonesia, according to the airline's statement.

It will be the only operator to fly on the route, say schedules in Innovata.
