AirAsia X has selected Indonesia' GMF AeroAsia to perform MRO work on three of its Airbus A330-300s.

The aircraft maintenance comprise of C5-checks, corrosion prevention and control, as well as automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast upgrades and a “special request job”, GMF says in a statement.

The first A330 entered into maintenance on 28 February at GMF's facility at Soekarno-Hatta International airport. It is the first time that GMF has conducted heavy maintenance on A330s for a customer other than parent company Garuda Indonesia.

The maintenance agreement with AirAsia X comeson the back of GMF signing maintenance agreements with Indonesia AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia X.

Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer lists AirAsia X as operating a fleet of 21 A330-300s.
