Hindustan Aeronautics is to produce weapons bay doors for the Indian navy's future fleet of eight Boeing P-8I maritime patrol aircraft, under a new deal worth $4.7 million.

"A contract has been signed with HAL, and the first delivery will be by the end of 2010," says Vivek Lall, vice-president and India country head for Boeing Defense, Space and Security. "This is the first P-8I offset package that Boeing has directly executed with India's largest aerospace company."
