Hawker Beechcraft certificates King Air C90GTi

Hawker Beechcraft has begun deliveries of the latest version of the popular King Air 90 twin-turboprop. The King Air C90GTi features a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 integrated flightdeck.

The Wichita, Kansas-based manufacturer delivered 10 aircraft in December following US certification of the King Air C90GTi. The company has now received Brazilian approval and says it is working on certifications in Europe, Mexico, Canada, Venezuela and Guatemala.

The C90GTi replaces the C90GT in production, and features the same uprated Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-135A turboprops. The new flightdeck uses the same Pro Line 21 avionics as the King Air B200GT and 350, as well as the Beechcraft Premier 1A and Hawker 750 and 900XP.

The faster C90GT was introduced to compete with very light jets, the smallest King Air offering a seven-seat cabin substantially larger than a VLJ's. The C90GTi upgrades the aircraft with "mid-size jet avionics", Hawker Beechcraft says.
