The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has appointed Christian Schleifer of Austria as president of its Air Navigation Commission (ANC), effective 1 January 2012.
Schleifer will succeed Mervyn Fernando of Singapore at ICAO's technical body. He will hold the position for one year.
Prior to his appointment, he served ANC as vice-president. He has been a commissioner at ANC since 2009.
In addition, Schleifer has worked in the department of certification and airworthiness at the Austrian Civil Aviation Authority.
