FIFA has tapped IMG Worldwide division IMG Sports Media to distribute in-flight and ship-at-sea broadcast rights of the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.

"IMG will offer daily and weekly highlights in addition to tournament round up packages. As a result, IMG is in an excellent position to offer a number of bespoke deals to suit all individual cruise-liners and airline needs," says the firm in a statement.

"Passengers will be able to enjoy all 64 games live during their trip," adds IMG Media senior vice-president Richard wise.

Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Founded in 1904, FIFA - the Fédération Internationale de Football Association - is football's governing body and based in Zurich. The forthcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup will be held in South Africa between 11 June and 11 July, and the 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in Brazil.
