India's Paramount Airways is resuming all flights today after a dispute with lessor GE Capital Aviaton Services (GECAS) resulted in cancelled flights over the weekend.
"We will resume operations from this afternoon, and no flights have been affected," says a carrier spokesman.
The airline cancelled flights after its three Embraer E-175 LRs were de-registered by the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday. Fourteen routes were cancelled.
This followed a claim from lessor GECAS that the airline had defaulted on payment of lease charges.
But the Delhi High Court has since issued an order against the de-registration, which will allow for flights using the three aircraft to resume, says the spokesman.
The airline has maintained that it does not owe GECAS any payment.
"We have paid them a $15 million deposit when we leased the aircraft. In fact, we are waiting for a refund of $2 million from the maintenance reserves," says the spokesman.
GECAS managing director for Asia Pacific, Mike Jones, was unavailable for comment.
