Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has revealed what it claims is the world's thinnest coloured galley light. The latest version of the Germam company's Guideline ColourFit non-electric emergency floor-path guidance system is just 2.3mm high, enabling it to fit in every non textile door on board, and is especially certified for galleys. The photoluminescent product shows the way to emergency exits in the event of a failure of the cabin lighting system.
"Due to security reasons in the galley area the normal carpet floor is replaced by a special non textile floor which normally is only 2 mm high," says Christian Lierow, LHT's head of product for Guideline.
