Japan Airlines (JAL) and Emirates have agreed to expand their codeshare agreement.

From 28 March, JAL will place its code on a new Emirates service between Tokyo Narita and Dubai.

Emirates will operate the service five times a week, using Boeing 777-300 aircraft.

Both airlines have offered codeshare services on the Osaka Kansai-Dubai route since 2002. They have also linked their frequent flyer programmes.

"By further strengthening their partnership through the new connection between Tokyo and Dubai, both airlines can build a more extensive network to increase customer convenience and better facilitate business and tourist travel to the Middle East from Japan," says JAL.

Emirates will be the only carrier operating between Tokyo Narita and Dubai, Innovata shows.
