KLM has ordered six additional Embraer 195-E2s while firming up its commitment for aircraft of the type disclosed at the Paris air show in June.

Embraer says the Dutch airline has ordered 21 E195-E2 and placed purchase rights for another 14 aircraft. At Paris, the two companies had revealed a tentative deal spanning 15 orders and 20 purchase rights for the E195-E2.

The 21 aircraft will be supplied from the order backlogs of lessors Aircastle and ICBC Aviation Leasing.

Aircastle will provide 11 E195-E2s and ICBC 10. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2021, says Embraer.

If all purchase rights are exercised, the order has a total value of $2.48 billion at list prices, the manufacturer notes.

KLM will configure the E2s with 132 seats.

Today, the carrier's regional Cityhopper arm operates 32 first-generation E190s and 17 E175s, Cirium fleets data shows.

KLM's E190s are equipped with 100 seats, while the E175s can accommodate 88 passengers.
