Messier Bugatti's latest carbon brake, Sepcarb III PLUS has been selected by Air Tours, All Nippon Airways, Ansett, Royal Brunei and Sabena for their Airbus A319/A320s. A total of 107 aircraft will have the brakes fitted from the second quarter of 1999 when Supercarb III PLUS brakes enter service.

The latest product from the Snecma subsidiary has been designed to increase the number of takeoff/landing cycles between overhauls and reduce airline operating costs as a result.

Messier Bugatti claims the PLUS system can increase the number of cycles between overhauls by 50% from an average of 1,650 landings per overhaul for the conventional Sepcarb III brake to 2,500.
