Lufthansa Technik foresees the addition of local repair capabilities at its newly expanded component repair shop in Dubai.

The German MRO group doubled the facility’s size to 5,000m² (53,800ft²) in 2018, after the greenfield site near Al Maktoum airport had been opened the previous year.

Named Lufthansa Technik Middle East, the facility concentrates on composite repairs for nacelles and radomes spanning Boeing 777s, 787s and Airbus A320-family jets, and houses a support centre for customers across the region.

LHT says that it has established in Dubai mobile support teams to conduct on-wings repairs throughout the region, and that “further possible services are currently in preparation”.

The MRO provider additionally operates a warehouse at Dubai International airport.
