Sukhoi’s long-range version of the Superjet 100 has passed an initial phase of fatigue testing to 12,000 cycles.

Testing has been conducted by the Moscow-based Central Aerohydrodynamics Institute (TsAGI).

It says the tests have “confirmed” the Superjet 100LR’s reliability for the duration of early operations.

TsAGI is to perform further fatigue tests on the airframe, taking the overall simulated cycle total to 162,000.

This will enable the institute to confirm the 54,000-cycle design life of the aircraft. The 100LR, equipped with PowerJet SaM146 engines, has a range of some 2,470nm.

Testing of the airframe began last year following its delivery to the institute in late 2014.
