Polish flag-carrier LOT is to restore services to the Indian capital New Delhi towards the end of the summer.

The Star Alliance member airline says it will begin serving the city from Warsaw on 17 September.

LOT will fly the connection five-times weekly using Boeing 787s.

Delhi had previously been among Asian destinations served by the Polish airline but it has been absent from the route for decades.

Chief executive Rafal Milczarski says the service has been “long-awaited”, adding that the connection has been selected as a result of Indian-European traffic demand and the size of the Indian economy.
