German flag carrier Lufthansa is eying expansion of its Private Jet service to the Middle East and the Asia Pacific as demand for the top-end service, operated as a joint venture with Europe’s largest business jet operator NetJets Europe, continues to soar.

The German flag carrier recently extended by five years the exclusive contract with NetJets and has introduced the large cabin Dassault Falcon 2000 to the Private Jet fleet, which also includes the mid size Raytheon Hawker 800XP, superlight Cessna Citation XLS and Bravo light business jets.

Lufthansa Private Jets was launched two years ago to offer its business and first class passengers   connections to over 1,000 airports within Europe and the Russian Federation, in conjunction with short and long haul scheduled commercial flights.

“We expected to receive up to three bookings a day when we launched the service,” says the airline, “but we now book around 10 aircraft a day and are growing at a rate of around 13% a month”.
