German firm RUAG Aerospace has signed a contract with a second customer for its newly-resurrected Dornier 228 turboprop.
It has identified the customer as a Mexican company, Air Cancun, and says it will take one firm and one optioned Dornier 228NG.
The revived 228 programme is under the direction of Swiss-owned RUAG with production based at the Oberpfaffenhofen facility near Munich.
RUAG says the deliveries are slated for late 2010 and early 2011 but states only that Air Cancun is a "large travel firm on the Yucatan peninsula".

The revamped 228NG features five-blade propellers which recently concluded a test programme, while Indian pattern manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) has successfully passed auditing by the German federal office of civil aeronautics.
Bangalore-based HAL will supply the wings, fuselage and empennage. Final assembly and outfitting will take place at RUAG Aerospace in Oberpfaffenhofen with the first items expected for delivery there in the first quarter of 2009.
Air Cancun's deal complements a launch purchase agreement for six 228NG aircraft earlier this year from an unidentified Asian customer.
