Quest Aircraft is hoping to secure long-awaited European certification for its Kodiak single-engined turboprop in the second quarter of 2017 and says delays in the approval process have already cost the company a number of orders.
Sam Hill, chief executive of the Sandpoint, Idaho-based company, says: “We are really keen to secure European approval so we can begin delivering locally registered aircraft to customers. Our distributor, Germany’s Rheinland Air Service, has lost a few orders because of the delays and people are telling us to come back when we have got approval. It is frustrating.”
Quest is displaying a Kodiak on the indoor static with a VIP Summit interior. “This is an ideal interior for the corporate and charter markets,” says Hill. “This sector currently accounts for 28% of our total market and we expect it to grow over the next few years.”
