Munich-based Dornier 328 maintenance specialist, 328 Support Service, has established a sister design organisation, which gained EASA Part 21J approval last month.

Named 328 Design, the company's objective is to bring engineering services "back in-house for a true one-stop shop", said Jörg Gorkenant, head of design.

Its team will work together with equipment engineering specialist Avionics Mobile Design Services, which became part of the group in 2009.

The 328 Support Service and 328 Design operations are located at Oberpfaffenhofen airfield outside Munich.

Around 200 turboprop- and turbofan-equipped 328 aircraft are in service today.
