No-one is reported to have survived after an ATR 72-200 said to be operated by Cuban regional carrier Aerocaribbean crashed in the centre of the country.

The aircraft reportedly was operating between Santiago de Cuba to the capital, Havana, when it came down about 15km from a city known as Sancti Spiritus.

Latin American media, citing the Cuban civil aviation institute, put the time of the accident at 17:42 yesterday. There were 68 occupants on board the twin-turboprop.

Flightglobal's ACAS database lists five ATR 72-200s in the Aerocaribbean fleet.
