Portuguese wet-lease specialist Hi Fly has found another customer for its Airbus A380, in the shape of Norwegian.

"We have hired a Hi Fly A380 to operate our evening London-New York service for several weeks in August," the Scandinavian low-cost carrier confirms.

It cites the "continued issues with a specific Rolls-Royce engine type" that have reduced availability of its Trent 1000-powered Boeing 787s, "in line with other airlines that have been affected by similar problems".

The A380 will offer "a high-quality experience", Norwegian promises.

Hi Fly's example (Maltese-registered MSN6) has in recent days been used to conduct flights on behalf of leisure group Thomas Cook.
