Flight Design CEO Matthias Betsch (pictured) says his light sport aircraft (LSA) company has seen a “significant” uptick in interest over the past six months, a trend he says indicates 2010 could be “a very good year”. A new offering to help the bottom line is amphibious Clamar floats for the CTLS-Lite, a $38,000 offering that will bring the total cost of the LSA to just under $180,000. Performance suffers slightly, with a 45kg (100lb) drop in useful load and 10kt (18.5km/h) reduction in cruise speed.
