Sukhoi's civil aircraft division manufactured 34 Superjet 100s during 2017, the largest number to roll off the company's production line in a single year.

The company says it has produced over 150 of the twinjet type in the decade since the first aircraft was shown off.

Sukhoi says the output last year was a "great achievement" in terms of modern domestic civil aircraft production in Russia.

Thirty aircraft were transferred last year to customers including domestic operators Aeroflot, Gazpromavia, Yakutia, Yamal, IrAero and Azimuth, as well as the Russian government.

Among international recipients were CityJet, Interjet, state authorities of Kazakhstan and the Thai air force.

Sukhoi puts demand for the 100-seat sector, over the two decades to 2036, at more than 2,300 aircraft, and it intends to supply 170-180 – expecting some 35-40 deliveries per year.

"One of the priority regions for us is Europe," says the airframer, but it admits it must "make a lot of effort" to develop "effective" after-sales services.
