Lufthansa Technik has agreed to provide aftermarket support for Parker Aerospace-supplied equipment on the Airbus A350, and the MRO provider and parts manufacturer are to jointly develop repairs for the aircraft.
The long-term deal with Parker spans the "majority of repairable components" for the A350's fuel, hydraulic and fuel tank inerting systems, says LHT.
It adds: "The collaboration will help optimise services by focusing on repair development, instead of replacing components, keeping them in flight longer to reduce costs."
Parker vice-president of commercial aftermarket Vic Jorcyk states that the manufacturer's objective "has always been to develop a strong network and provide local solutions for MRO and part availability".
He asserts: "We will achieve the best cost savings for customers, optimise reliability, and develop better repairs by combining our competencies."
For LHT, the partnership represents "a new way of doing business". The maintenance specialist predicts that customers will "benefit from OEM data combined with powerful MRO insight and repair capabilities".
