Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines is to exercise options for 25 more Airbus A321neos.

Pegasus says the options supplemented a firm order for 75 A320neo-family aircraft placed in 2012, and that exercising them will take the overall order to 100.

The 25 firmed options comprise five A321neos to be delivered in 2022, and 10 A321neos to be delivered in each of 2023 and 2024.

Istanbul-based Pegasus is taking the Airbus Cabin Flex version of the aircraft, which includes exit modifications enabling an increase in seating capacity.

Pegasus says it retains the right to convert all or some of the aircraft to the smaller A320neo.

The order for 75 jets includes 57 A320neos – of which 12 had been delivered by the end of November – and 18 A321neos.

Pegasus has selected the CFM International Leap-1A engine for all 100 aircraft. It became the first carrier to take delivery of the Leap-powered version of the A320neo in July last year.
