The aircraft is one of three being leased from US lessor International Lease Finance (ILFC). Delivery of the second will follow tomorrow, and a third at the end of the month.

Izair is currently waiting for operating permission from the Turkish CAA. It plans to initially operate charter flights from the end of the month before expanding the scope of operations. CEO Ekrem Demirtas says: “We are also planning scheduled flights in Turkey and serving main destinations to Europe."

Izair was founded last year by entrepreneurs in the Turkish city of Izmir in collaboration with around 100 partners. While launched as Izmir Hava Yollari (IHY), the carrier will be branded as Izair.
