A Mitsubishi/Lockheed Martin F-2B on a test flight has crashed after take-off, causing it to slide along the ground as it exploded in flames, injuring two crew members.

The multi-role fighter was set to be delivered to the Japanese air force.

Video footage taken from a CCTV camera shows the aircraft taking off from a runway in Nagoya, before suddenly hitting the ground.

Mitsubishi says the flames were extinguished about 10 minutes after the crash and that the aircraft's crew, both company employees, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
