Malaysia Airlines (MAB) will introduce new business class seats on all 15 of its Airbus A330-300 aircraft, effective April 2016.

The new seats will feature a fully flat bed, measuring at 43in with a width of 20.6in. They will come in a 1-2-1 or 1-2-2 layout, and equipped with a 16in touch screen inflight entertainment system by Panasonic Avionics, says the carrier.

The Oneworld alliance member plans expects to complete the retrofitting work by September that year.

Upon completion of the retrofitting works, the aircraft will have 290 seats across two classes: 27 business and 263 economy seats. Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer shows that in its existing configuration, the A330s have a total of 283 seats, divided into 36 business and 247 economy class seats.

“This product will make us more competitive against other full-service carriers and is part of the airline’s push to be more customer centric, offering new, personalised and innovative products,” adds MAB group chief executive Christoph Mueller.
