Boeing today delivered a 737-800 to Turkish national carrier THY Turkish Airlines, which became its 100th aircraft.

The aircraft (TC-JGV) was fêted at the company's main base at Atatürk airport in Istanbul with a ceremony that included a water cannon salute. The 100th aircraft has been painted with special scheme in turquoise (pictured below) .
 
THY's Chief executive Candan Karlitekin says: "The fleet has reached 100 and rising. Boeing and Airbus will continue with 28 more aircraft on order. Becoming the 29th largest airline by fleet is an honour for us"
 
THY operates six Airbus A310s, two A319s, 14 A320s, eight A321s, five A330s, seven A340s, 17 Boeing 737-400s and 41 Boeing 737-800s.
