Australia's Qantas Airways has renewed a contract with the country's Defence Materiel Organisation for the maintenance and support of the air force's fleet of 12 Lockheed Martin C-130H tactical transports.
Qantas Defence Services, a subsidiary of Australia's flag carrier, originally won the contract in 1999.
The three-year extension, which is worth A$136 million ($118 million), will cover a range of maintenance, engineering and logistics support activities for the Royal Australian Air Force's air lift system program office.

The Qantas subsidiary provides maintenance, supply and training support to major Australian defence aerospace capabilities. This includes the Rolls-Royce/Turbomeca Adour engines which power the RAAF's BAE Systems Hawk 127 advanced jet trainers. It is also modifiying four of the service's new Airbus Military A330/KC-30A multi-role tanker transports.
