Robinson Helicopter delivered 690 aircraft last year, beating its previous industry record of 422 helicopters in 2003. The Torrance, California-based manufacturer of piston-single helicopters delivered 456 four-seat R44s and 234 two-seat R22s. Boosted by the weak dollar, about two-thirds of deliveries were for export customers. Robinson says it has over 200 aircraft on back order and is trying to increase production from 15 helicopters a week to 20 a week.
