Rockwell Collins and Emirates have signed a five-year maintenance, repair and overhaul agreement for the carrier's avionics systems.

The maintenance deal will provide Emirates with fixed costs and turnaround time guarantees, as well as access to the OEMs spares pool.

Emirates signed an agreement with Rockwell Collins to install its avionics on 32 Airbus A380s and 30 Boeing 777s in 2011 at the Dubai air show. The package also includes the GLU-925 multi-mode receiver, the MultiScan weather detection system, the ADF-900 direction finder and DME-900 distance-measuring equipment. The carrier previously indicated in 2007 that the avionics specialist would provide the systems for at least 47 Boeing 777s.
