Russian state holding firm Rostekhnologii has concluded an agreement with flag-carrier Aeroflot covering purchase and lease of passenger aircraft.

The agreement follows the declaration by Rostekhnologii that it had selected Boeing as the supplier of narrowbody aircraft following a tender seeking up to 65 jets.

Under the agreement the state firm would be obliged to supply aircraft to Aeroflot at rates matching, or bettering, those available on the market.

The pact, says Rostekhnologii, sets out the basic conditions for the lease arrangements and sets out a timetable regarding the fleet renewal of several other carriers being integrated with Aeroflot.

Rostekhnologii will create, by August, the structures necessary to meet its obligations under the agreement, while Aeroflot will notify the company about its fleet requirements by November.
