Russian maintenance provider S7 Technics will establish a repair shop for Honeywell APUs in partnership with the US manufacturer.

The facility will be located in the European side of Russia – at a site to be determined in 2019 – and support Honeywell 131-9A, -9B and RE-220 APUs, which are respectively installed on Airbus A320-family aircraft, Boeing 737s and Sukhoi Superjets.

S7 Technics says that it will operate the facility as a Honeywell “channel partner” – under an approval by the European Aviation Safety Agency – and handle around 50 APUs per year at the site.

Services will span full equipment disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly and functional testing.

S7 Technics general director Marat Tereschenko describes the agreement as an “excellent opportunity for another technical breakthrough” for the Moscow-based MRO provider.

He says the facility will conduct services “never offered before in Russia” and that it will be a “very good platform for further development of powerplant and component technical maintenance”.
