Germany’s Grob has begun ground runs of the second SPn light business jet prototype as it readies the all-composite twin jet for first flight by early October.

The third aircraft, which will be a conforming article, is now in production with first flight planned for early this year. The SPn made its maiden flight at the Paris air show in June 2005 and has since chalked up around 300h.

A mock-up of the aircraft will be on display at the National Business Aviation Association convention next month in Orlando, Florida where Grob and marketing partner ExecuJet are expected to specify a cabin completion specialist. The SPn is available in a six-seat VIP and a standard eight-seat configuration.
