Shanghai Airlines will be delisted from the Shanghai stock exchange from 25 January, as it completes its merger with China Eastern Airlines.

The stock exchange granted its approval on 21 January for the delisting, says Shanghai Airlines.

China Eastern offered to take over Shanghai Airlines in July in a 9 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) deal. It offered to swap 1.3 of its Shanghai-listed A-shares for every Shanghai Airlines share.

These A-shares will be traded on the stock exchange after the merger plan is implemented, on a date to be announced by China Eastern, says Shanghai Airlines.
