Taiwan's China Airlines and Pratt & Whitney (P&W) have signed an engine parts repair and replacement agreement for the airline's PW4056 engines.

The deal is valued at about $60 million to $70 million, says P&W.

"We are pleased to select Pratt & Whitney for our inventory logistics needs for our PW4056 engines," says Derek Cridland, senior vice president of engineering and maintenance for China Airlines.

"As a trusted OEM (original equipment manufacturer), Pratt & Whitney is experienced at helping operators such as ourselves to add value to our business."

PW4056 engines are installed on nine of China Airlines' Boeing 747-400 aircraft, according to Flightglobal's ACAS database.
